Since Thanksgiving is here, I came up with this brilliant idea! How about this holiday season, we don’t blame the holidays for getting fat?! I’m going to give you 5 tips in order to stay lean for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.

First things first:  Enjoy Yourself.

Enjoy your day, have fun with your family BUT don’t make stupid decisions! You’ve been grinding all year long. You got in to really great shape and you don’t want to stop your momentum for a day of gluttonous eating. I’m telling you that you need to keep the momentum going. 

1. Don’t Skip Breakfast

Don’t skip breakfast because you want to save calories. Eat a well-balanced meal with complex carbohydrates, proteins and a little bit of fats. 

2. Plan out your day

Plan your breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even the snacks in between! Just so you know exactly what you are about to eat and you can always stay prepared.

 

3. Do a Fasted Cardio in the Morning of the Big Dinner

Do fasted cardio in the morning of the big dinner. If you already know what you are going to be eating bad and although you can’t outwork a bad diet for psychological purposes, doing your cardio in the morning is going you to help you build your tempo.

This is only going to help you stay on track with what you are previously doing before the big day.  So nothing really changes! You’re still in routine, you still have the momentum and you can still enjoy the best of both worlds.

4. Have a Lower Carb Day Before the Big Dinner

In the morning, you are going to have your breakfast already planned out with your meals. With those planned meals you need to have lower carbs so you will not go way too far with your caloric intake. You will simply be cruising along through the day.

 

5. Don’t Eat until Your Belly is About to Pop

I’ll keep things short, sweet and simple. You will have a spike in insulin, you’ll get the sleepy feeling and you’ll have some swelling going on!

The last thing you would want is to eat a huge meal, feel like a shit and swell up like a balloon. Eat and get full, but let your food digest. If you are going to go back for a seconds- then go! BUT DON’T over eat and make your belly expand.

Here’s a bonus tip!

If the day after Thanksgiving you feel like you did get a lot of swelling (this is something that is very true and could happen to a lot of people), go to your local Kroger or your local GNC and get some Dandelion Root or some B6. These are natural diuretics. Take this in the morning time and drink one gallon of water to reduce your inflammation and the swelling. This will help you get back on track.

So use these tips so stay lean through the holiday season, don’t lose the momentum, and don’t get out routine.

My motto is to stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.  Practice these tips you will be in perfect shape to fulfill that motto.
