Have you ever felt you want to set a positive morning routine that will enable you to be more productive during the day, but not entirely sure how to go about doing it?

At some point, majority of us experienced trouble because it’s easy to forget about a positive morning routine when your day is full of dozens of things to do and personal obligations.

Fortunately, there’s a simple, practical, and easy to follow solution to this problem.

For starters, let’s dive deeper to the benefits of having a morning ritual. People are the most productive when they wake up. That being said, setting up a routine safeguards that they maintain that level of productivity throughout the day.

If you are following a ritual when you first wake up, this means you’re following a system which allows you to have more time to reflect in a quiet atmosphere making you more organized. More importantly, these habits help you create energy and the right “mindset” to tackle the challenges of a busy day.

Here are the 5 Things you should incorporate in your Morning Ritual:

1. Pray
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every MORNING… ” — Lamentations 3:22-23
When you develop a routine of spending time with God first thing in the morning, your days will change drastically. Thank him for giving you another chance to do your purpose.

After all, not everyone woke up that morning. Every morning is a gift, take time to savor and give thanks for it. Please note that your problems will NOT go away, but the negative, anxious, stressful, and fearful thoughts will amazingly be manageable if it won’t completely disappear.

It doesn’t matter if you believe in a different kind of God. May it be Allah, Buddah, science or the universe. As long as you believe in a higher power and start the day by a meditation on that higher power you believe in. This will be a great weapon to regain territory in the everyday battles in your mind. Once you surrender your day and filled it with God’s words, you’ll be able to put God in the driver’s seat where he belongs, rather than allowing that day to run all over you.

2. Coffee
As they say, coffee is the perfect complement for a productive day.

You would want to savor this wonderful piece of information: Coffee improves your alertness and helps you overcome fatigue and drowsiness, giving you an energetic start to your day! It enhances short term memory and helps you to be more focused and concentrated at work.

Of course, here at reubenbrookesfitness.com, we always recommend moderation. So it would be beneficial if you stick with 300mg of caffeine/day.

3. Make up bed

You’ll be surprise how making up your bed in the morning can be supremely beneficial for your life! Once you get in the habit of making your bed, you'll crave a little more organization in your life.

Quoting what US Navy Adm. William McRaven's words:
“If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day,” he said in a commencement speech at the University of Texas. “It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task, and another, and another. And by the end of the day that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed.”

This small shift in your habit will soon upgrade into bigger habit of organization creating a chain reaction that will eventually help other good habits take hold. It might seem too small to matter, but starting your day by making your bed gives you a sense of accomplishment early in the morning. This gives you an instant feeling of success and the feeling that you are on top of things!

4. Exercise

We all know that exercise has numerous benefits for the health. But a morning workout has additional perks on top of the usual exercise benefits!
Doing your workouts in the morning can give you that energy boost you require to get going. This is mainly due to the release of endorphins and other hormones that make you feel good. Morning exercise is a great way to eject the stresses of the day before and clear your mind to attack the day with more positivity.

5. Goal Set

The act of daily goal setting makes a person successful in life. Incorporating goal setting in your early morning ritual gives you focus and direction towards your day. This serves as reminders on what is your purpose on waking up anyway. Successful people always do morning goal settings. Thit is why their goals are firmly lodged in their subconscious. The subconscious is brilliant at prioritizing. It listens to you and measures from your thoughts what you think is the most important task.
